Pizza with cassava dough in Navàs: an alternative to wheat dough

Fresh cassava, cut open

Not everyone can or wants to eat wheat dough. That's why at L'Antiga Sastreria we offer pizza with cassava (yuca) dough as an alternative.

What is cassava?

Cassava (also known as yuca or manioc) is a tuber originally from South America. Its flour doesn't come from wheat, which is why it's often used to make alternatives to traditional doughs.

How we prepare it

  • The cassava dough comes individually packaged.
  • It's baked on its own tray, with no direct contact with the surface of our ovens.
  • On top go the same ingredients as on our menu: you can choose whichever pizza you like best.

If you're coeliac, please read this first

We want to be clear: we don't have a separate kitchen for coeliacs. Although the cassava dough is handled with care, we work with wheat flour in the kitchen and there may be traces.

If you have coeliac disease or an allergy, check with us before you come and we'll explain what we can offer you and with what guarantees.

How to order it

Ask for it when you book via WhatsApp (+34 605 429 346) or directly at the table, subject to availability. You can see all our pizzas on our menu.
